Magic Moments.......

In March of this year myself and a group of like minded women got together to launch a competition that would raise awareness of our respective businesses. That competition gave a lucky couple the chance to win a wedding package. Hair & Make Up by www.modelmesalon.co.uk, Wedding Planning by www.eventhorizons.org, Floral arrangments and bouquets by www.whiteorchidsouthport.co.uk, Sweetie Table by www.facebook.com/sweetiefactory, Balloon centrepieces by Mackay & Co Balloons (mackay.balloons@gmail.com) and Wedding Photography by www.facebook.com/natashadaviesphotography & www.vixward.com

Little did we know what we had let ourselves in for!!!

We met with the winners, Sophie McQueen and Jamie McQueenie.( I know!! How weird is that??? She only has to add an ie onto her name ) and after going over the details and date of the wedding we arranged to do the official engagement shoot. This being the resulting image they used....
We all got on fabulously and it transpires that Sophie is a music teacher at Meols Cop High School. This wasn't going to be a quiet wedding!

Not to be corny or cheesy or any other words beginning with C but Nat and I had a wonderful day. We headed out to Model Me Salon where Gemma & her team were transforming the bridal party...

Gemma & Hayley from www.modelmesalon.co.uk

Then off to the parents house for the rest of the bridal preparations. Lets just say that there was an element of stress in the air but, amazingly, not from the bride. There appeared to be bodies in various stages of undress all over the place. With 5 brothers, a dad and a godfather the place had a distinct smell of aftershave and testosterone. Sophie was ready before most of them. We mucked in with corsage pinning & corset pulling and then we Starsky & Hutched it round to the church.
Holy Mother of God  it was nuts! People everywhere but I think we pulled off being calm and collected. We did, right?

Jamie, the Groom, looked amazing and was incredibly calm and smiley! All the kids from the school were positioned and what a suprise when the service started...they started dancing up the aisle to Bruno Mars and 'I think I wanna Marry You'. The rest of the service didn't disappoint.....

And what Scottish wedding wouldn't be complete without the cool bagpiper?

The Bratpack ...and I know one of them was wearing Superman underpants, I just couldn't get the photographic evidence!

I love her dads face in this picture! We wanted to take him home with us. :)

But look how proud he is in this next picture.

Emotions were running high....

The sweetie table was attacked before the speeches...

A brilliant speech from the father of the bride and a powerful rendition of Magic Moments ;)

Jamie & his brother also made great speeches but I don't think there was a dry eye in the house when Jamie told us all that the previous week he had been baptised and had taken David as his middle name. Pretty sure the photographers aren't supposed to cry but we were blubbing all the way through it. You know you have an emotional problem when the bride has to leave top table to give you a tissue.

The catalogue shot turned out great girls!

This is us, Nat & Vix, and Les the cameraman. He was actually a lot taller than what he looks like here. :)

Well, at least now we know!

The signature board was signed by all...

The first dance....

The second dance....

This couple were waltzing area the floor for ages and all the while he was singing to her!

During the course of the day Nat & I became honourary McQueen/ies - At the risk of sounding cheesey again, we loved EVERY minute of this day. We felt the love from these two families and were so grateful for them to let us into their lives for the day. After doing the rounds to say our goodbyes we eventually made it to the lift only to have Sophies father run after us to thank us profusley for sharing the day with them. He told us that it had felt like we were family and we are almost certain he meant that it a good way! We got in the lift and cried. Really, we did.

Sophie & Jamie, we hope you had a wonderful day and will enjoy a long and happy life together. We'll be sending you our address so that we don't miss any family parties. Where are we having Christmas lunch..........?
